Alright you crazy indie kids, today it's time to slow down and sulk. And doing so is just so much more enjoyable when you have the right soundtrack. Today we're looking at Gem Club's song 'Twins', which impressed me from the first couple of notes the first time I heard it. I just had to stop everything I was doing and just immerse myself in it, and that's definitely a sign of awesome songwriting right there.
The melody is simple and the lyrics are short and powerful. They're about finding someone and the end of solitude, but this song mostly makes me want to be alone. I kinda want to spend a day playing it on a loop while swimming in a pool at night by myself. Depressing? Maybe. I say soothing.
